Faculty, graduate students, medical students and undergraduates at Rice University or Texas Medical Center institutions are eligible to check out books from both the Fondren and HAM-TMC Library. This arrangement is made available through the HARLiC (Houston Area Research Library Consortium) consortium, which was created in 1978 to meet the needs of the Houston area research community by sharing library collections and services. Ask at the Circulation counter at the library for which you have a valid library card. The staff will check eligibility and issue a HARLiC card at no charge.
As a HARLiC cardholder, you are expected to observe the circulation and service policies of the library from which you are borrowing materials or seeking other service. Information regarding circulation periods, renewals, over-due fines, library hours and phone numbers can be found on both library web pages:
Users may borrow materials in person, or use interlibrary loan to have materials delivered to the home institution.
